Another trip to the hospital

So this has been another interesting week. It started off shaky with everything with Misty. Then is started to look up when we found out our furniture was in. I was soo excited when it came on Friday. Now, we're just waiting on the changing table. El was sick all weekend so he hasn't put the crib together so I'm hoping he'll get to that this week. I can't wait to see it all put together. I worked on acouple things this weekend for Sophie's room and it's really coming together. I'll post pictures later this week.

Sunday around 3 p.m. I started feeling pressure in my lower stomach. I decided to ignore it and went over to Misty and Ricky's for a cookout. It continued for acouple more hours so Misty told me to start timing them. I had three in fifteen minutes so I decided to call my doctor. Dr. Cacchio said I should go straight to Labor & Delivery just to be checked out. She thought I was having contractions. Since this is my first time, I wasn't really sure what contractions felt like. So Misty and my mom took me straight to Riverside. They hooked me up to the monitor so we could hear Sophie's heart beat...which was good. While doing this they could tell I was having contractions. Since I'm only 29 weeks, they decided they should do an internal ultrasound, pelvic exam and a fetal fibronectin test to make sure my cervix was closed and to make sure I wasn't going into early labor. Luckily the tests came back negative and my cervix was closed. They gave me a shot to stop the contractions. After being there for several hours and being worried, they released me. They said I need to take it easy and drink lots of water these next couple months....and stay out of the sun.

El and I were both scared but this also made us realize we still have alot to do before our little Sophie comes so we're excited our showers are this weekend, then we plan to really get everything ready for her arrival.

Hello 3rd trimester

I'm soo excited to be in the third trimester. We're getting closer and closer to meeting our baby girl. Add ImageI had my 28 week appt. today and everything looked great. I'm measuring at 29 weeks instead of 28 weeks so maybe I'll go early! The nurse said she thinks i'll have a big baby. :)

I've been feeling pretty good. I cannot complain and am lucky I've had such a great pregnancy that seems like its going by soo fast. We're just hoping the furniture will come in soon. Fingers crossed!

Here's a picture from the beach, I was technically 27 weeks in the picture:

And here's a picture from Danielle's baby shower yesterday where I'm 28 weeks, Danielle is a month ahead of me and Campo is 8 weeks behind me:

Danielle, Campo and I are all prego so it was nice chatting with them and catching up with Maria on the drive to and from the shower.

Fun times in Myrtle Beach

We just got back from Myrtle Beach and Nashville, TN last night. We had a great time relaxing and spending a week together. While this vacation was alot different than what we're used to, all-inclusive, drinking, excursions etc. we still had a great time. I had alot of time to read, catch some rays and just relax. We also both got a little burnt...here's a picture of El's legs after laying out the first day:

While in Myrtle we went to Boardwalk on the Beach, walked through all the shops and had dinner. We also celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary by going to Medieval Times. It was different but we had alot of fun. We cannot believe how fast the past four years have gone by. We're happy that we've been able to travel and spend four years together just the two of us before our precious baby will be here.

Then, on Friday, we drove to Gatlinburg, TN and stayed with Jim and Sharon for the night. We had alot of fun going to dinner and walking through all the shops. The view from their chalet was amazing. We woke up Saturday morning and drove back. Although I was super car sick and we got stuck in construction, we still made it home before dark.

We had a great week but were both excited to get home to see Maya and Meatball who we both missed. Usually we're sad to come home from vacation but this time was different, while we'd love to be on vacation forever, we were excited because we have our little Sophia to look forward to as well as our showers in two weeks. We know that we're getting closer and closer to meeting our baby girl. :)

26 week update

It's been two weeks since my last update and i'm happy to say I passed the glucose test! :) I was soo excited and rewarded myself with ice cream.

I've been feeling great, minus a little back pain. I feel blessed to be having such a great pregnancy. Hopefully that'll continue. Sophie has been moving like crazy. Elliott gets excited because he can see her move now. Sometimes when I wear tighter shirts I'll look down and see her kicking, punching or moving. It's amazing.

I can't believe I'll be 27 weeks on Saturday...time is really going by fast.

The past two weeks have been busy for us. We've been working on things for Sophia's room and praying that the furniture will come in any day now. Fingers crossed. I've also been working on a scrapbook for Sophia.

This past weekend I traveled to Toledo for my cousin Whitney's graduation. Then, after the graduation my family and I went to brunch to celebrate Mother's Day. Afterwards my dad and I took a "battle of the bellies" picture. Unfortunately for me, my dad has lost some weight and my belly was def bigger than his. Here's acouple pictures:

Here's a belly picture at 25 weeks:

We leave for Myrtle Beach on Sunday and cannot wait. I'll post some pictures when we get back! My next doctor appt. is on Monday, May 23. After that appt. I'll start going every two weeks.
