I'm now 38 weeks and have been wondering when little Sophia will make her appearance. We had a good weekend, last night we went to the Clipper's game for my work. It was nice because we were in the suite so it wasn't too hot. After walking all day and getting home at 10 p.m. my feet had enough. Here's what they looked like:
Elliott thought it was hilarious. I've never seen my legs, feet and ankles soo swollen. It actually looks like I don't have ankles anymore lol!
This morning we went to church and I now have a different view on things. Going into church today I kept saying how we should pray that Sophie comes soon, however, after listening to our pastor and hearing about other people's struggles I now know I should be blessed to just be pregnant and that Sophie will come when she's ready. So from now on...no more rushing her. Our pastor told us a story today about our organist, Tom Cook, who actually performed at our wedding. His daughter was pregnant with triplets and all three recently died on July 29 which is actually the anniversary of them having a miscarriage the year before. After hearing that sad story it just makes you put things into perspective. I feel so grateful to be pregnant and also that everything has gone well so far. So from now on, we'll just pray for a safe delivery and a healthy baby girl.

Our next appt. is tomorrow so I'll give everyone an update afterwards.

Another False Alarm
Soo it's been another interesting week. It started off Sunday morning when I thought my water broke. I called my doctor because I wasn't sure and the on call doctor told me to go to Riverside to see if it was my water that broke. I wasn't having contractions but thought I'd go to be sure. After two hours and different tests, they determined my water didn't break and I was still at 3 cm dilated so I was sent home. We were kind of bummed since we were already there but we know it's best for Sophie to continue to cook. :) We had all of our bags packed in the car and were fully ready for our baby girl to come.
My department threw me a baby shower on Monday. It was soo cute. They had cake (yay), made super cute decorations like a sock flower tree, diapers with nuts and snacks in them. I also got outfits, bottles, binkies, toys, burp cloths and a Target gift card. :) I am soo blessed to work with such great, caring people.
I had my weekly appt. on Tuesday. Everything looked great. Sophie's heart rate was 132. I was still at 3 cm. Sophie is in perfect position to deliver which is good. I'm also at -1 and have to get to 0 before she can come...so we're getting close. They said I'll stay at 3cm before I go into labor. Now, we're just waiting on her arrival.

Full Term
So i'm now 37 weeks and considered full term. I'm guessing I'm still 3 cm dilated but we'll find out on Monday at my doctor's appt. This week has been a little rough. It's getting harder to sleep at night, especially with contractions. I've been getting around 4 hours of sleep every night because I'm either having contractions that stop after an hour, or I'm in the bathroom, or I'm just too excited/anxious for the arrival of our little peanut.
Thursday I had Emerging Leaders (a year long leadership program at work that I was accepted into) and my group (14 of us total) threw me a suprise baby shower. I was soo suprised and greatful for all the great gifts. They got me a ton of things including outfits, bottles, bottle sanitizer, bottle warmer, bottle drying rack, books, pack n play sheets, rattles, and soo much more. We also had cake...which as everyone knows..I LOVE!! I have my department work shower on Monday so I'm looking forward to that.
Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Jim Jim are here today and have been working hard helping Elliott put together Sophie's new swingset. While she won't be able to play on it for awhile, it'll be perfect for next Spring and Summer. We're so greatful to have them both. They put alot of hard work into it and Sophie will love it. Here's acouple pictures of them putting it together:

36 weeks
I'm now 36 weeks and had my 36 week appt. this morning. Dr. Cacchio said I'm 3cm dilated. I think Elliott about flew out of his chair when she said that. We were expecting maybe 1 cm if that, but def not 3cm. We were both excited but we also know we have alot to do before the arrival of our baby girl. The rest of the appt.went well, the weigh in was good....no weight gain since my last appt. two weeks ago. Sophie's heart rate was 135 and my stomach was measuring right on. Dr. Cacchio said I could go within the next week or two but doesn't think I'll go past the first week in August. We're both really excited and ready to meet our baby girl. Today El put the swing together, we went shopping for last minute things, packed my bag and we're pretty much ready now. :) Now, we just wait.

35 weeks
I'm now 35 weeks and the time is going by much slower than before. With the temp rising I feel like the days go by even slower. I'm getting less sleep each night, however, I can't complain as I know my baby girl will be here soon.
Here's acouple pictures from today:

Elliott's coworkers threw him a baby shower today. They got him alot of nice gifts including diapers, wipes, outfits for Sophie, ducks for bath time, bibs, spoons, dishes, sippy cups and several other things. He was really suprised and grateful for everything.

It has been nice having Elliott at home with me in the evenings. I will miss him when he has to go back to work soon. While I'm in the "nesting" stage it's nice to have him help clean, organize and re-clean and re-organize. :)
Tomorrow we have our meet-and-greet with the pediatrician. We're both looking forward to that and hope we like all the doctors. Elliott is taking my car to the Westerville Fire Station tomorrow morning to get the car seat properly installed. They'll also teach him how to install the car seat in his car and talk about car seat safety.
Thursday we're meeting with a potential babysitter. She lives in our neighborhood so we're hoping she'll work out.
Saturday we have the "Baby Basics" class. I think we'll both benefit. It'll be nice for Elliott to learn all the things and it'll be a nice refresher for me.
The nursery is finally complete. Here's acouple pictures:

34 weeks
I'm now 34 weeks and counting down the weeks and days until I can meet my little Sophia. Today we had our 34 week appt. and had to meet with Dr. Jenkins because Dr. Cacchio was at another office. I was bummed as I love Cacchio and wasn't a huge fan of Dr. Jenkins. The appt. started off bad at the weigh in. I think they should deduct acouple pounds after a long, holiday weekend but they didn't. :( Sophie's heartbeat was 130 and I'm still measuring a week ahead (35 weeks now). Dr. Jenkins said Sophie should be around 5.5 - 6 pounds already. I thought that was crazy.

Our weekend started off great. On Friday we had a few friends over for a cookout. It was nice hanging out with other friends with kids. We know how our weekends will look in the future. :) Saturday, we went to St. Mary's Lake for my grandpa's annual hog roast. I'll post pictures later. Then, on Sunday El went to work but was sent to Urgent Care, then Riverside Hospital. Between El and I we could have completed a frequent flyer card for Riverside. I feel like we're both always there. He's been off work for the past couple days for his elbow. He has cellulitis and bursitis in his elbow. He goes back tomorrow for a follow up and will find out when he can go back to work.
We hung acouple more things in Sophie's room and it's really coming together. We just have two more shelves to hang and her room will be complete. :) I'll post pictures once we get them hung.
