Sophia's First Birthday

Wednesday was Sophia's first birthday. I tried to prepare myself all week for this day. I really thought I'd cry all day, but I didn't shed one tear. :) We were soo busy I didn't really have time to think about how my baby girl turned one.

First, we woke up and realized Soph's eye that had been watering for acouple days (I thought it was allergies) still hadn't gotten better. Since Elliott and I took the day off to spend with Soph, we decided we'd take her into her pediatrician just to make sure it wasn't anything besides allergies. We got there and her doctor said she had an eye infection. :( Nothing like being contagious on your birthday. We had to cancel our dinner plans with the Beaty's but we still had a great day with our baby girl.

Once we got home, we gave Soph her presents.

 Then, we took her to the splash pad in Dublin. Her pediatrician said she'd be fine to go since she wasn't swimming and touching anything where other kids could get it. As soon as we got there, this little boy wanted her hat lol:

 She was unsure at first, but then loved it:

 And wanted to drink the water. Instead of a splash pad, she thought it was a drinking fountain:

They have these huge bunnies on top of the hill. Soph wanted to run up the hill but didn't realize its harder to walk up a hill than a flat surface. Once we got up top, I asked El to take our picture and he totally cut off one of the huge bunnies lol:

We had alot of fun at the splash pad and will def go back. It wasn't nearly as big as Scioto Mile, however, it was MUCH cleaner!

After dinner, we gave Soph a cupcake with 1 candle in it. She was soo interested in the flame:

 She tried to grab it several times while we were singing "happy birthday" and despite us trying to stop her every time, she reached it before we got her. She didn't cry, but she did have a little mark. We felt terrible.

 She wasn't a HUGE fan of the cupcake or the icing. Whose child is she?  Haha!

 And then she was done and over it. Haha!

I can't believe my baby is one!! This has been the best year ever and I'm sure it'll just get even better. :)
