Sophia knows all her letters when you give her a letter and ask her what it is. She’ll get them confused from time to time or will be stubborn and when you ask her what letter it is, she won’t even look and will yell “e.” But for the most part she can usually say all the letters and get them right. Our sitter couldn’t believe it when she took her to the mall play place and she passed H&M and Soph yelled “H” and then “M.” Our sitter also told us she’s hoping our Soph will help the other two kids (who are two) with their letters and numbers. She still counts to three and will say other numbers just not all together yet.
Soph started taking her pj's off and then she tries putting them back on.
Soph has a great imagination. She will take her fake ketchup bottle and pretend its shampoo and put it in her hair and wash it. It’s soo cute.
Potty training: she likes to sit on her potty but she always has her clothes on lol! We still put her on it from time to time before her bath but we aren’t pushing it.
Food: she is still hit or miss with eating. Some days she barely eats and other days she eats great for each meal. She loves ice cream (like her daddy) so Misty gave us the idea to freeze her yogurt cups and give those to her as her night time snack and call it “ice cream.” She gets soo excited and yells “ice cream.” The past three times we went out to dinner, instead of getting her a kids meal, I’ve been ordering her a side of black beans and she’ll eat those. Time after time I’d order her the kids meal whether it was chicken tenders or nuggets, grilled cheese or mac n cheese all paired with fruit and she’d just eat the fruit or one bite of something else. So I decided to skip the kids meal and order her something I know she loves –beans. The servers always look at me funny but hey, whatever works. Speaking of going out to dinner – this has started to become a challenge. Since she isn’t eating much, she doesn’t like to sit still for long and she isn’t a fan of the high chair. This week we tried the booster seat and she liked that much better. However, after awhile she still wanted up so we’re working on that.
New words: I think these are new words but honestly I don’t know what’s new anymore: hey, princess, pillow, blanket, napkin, straw, man, mine, all gone, here it is, and door.
Clothes: 2t and some 3t, size 5 diapers and size 6 shoes
Sleep: We’ve been letting her stay up later until around 8:30 and she gets up between 6:30 – 8 it just depends. She has to sleep with her light that has all the stars and moon on the ceiling and with all her stuffed animals and babies. We recently put a pillow in her crib and she loves it. The past couple nights she’s been crying when we put her down. After about 10 mins of crying, we’ll go up, get her (even though we know we shouldn’t) and she stays up for 20 more mins then we put her back down. Tonight, has been awful. After letting her cry for 15 mins (which is REALLY hard for me since I haven’t had to do this with her before) I went up and she had scratched her face, I rocked her, gave her some water and put her back down. She screamed soo hard for at least 15 more minutes, then she played in her crib before finally going to sleep around 9:30. I’m not sure why she’s doing this but I’m hoping it’s a QUICK phase that’ll end soon.
Activities: Singing songs, ring around the rosie, playing outside (she cries when its time to come in), dancing, jumping off the couch, going down her slide (in the basement), sitting at my temporary desk,
and playing hide-n-go-seek.
At restaurants we've moved out of high chairs and now into booster seats. Soph loves being in the "big girl seat!" We also let her hold her own ice cream cone on her own tonight and she didnt soo well.
