Sophia is TWO - Two Year Update

I cannot believe Sophia is TWO!! She has gone from 7 pounds 8 ozs to 24 pounds at one and is now 29 pounds. Sophia brightens every day…even on the days she’s a little rotten. Sophia has hit soo many milestones this past year, let’s see, we got rid of the bottle acouple weeks after she turned one (thanks for the help on that one, Misty), we got rid of the paci when she was 16 months (thanks Mom), she’s gone out of Ohio acouple times, went to many museums, parks, splash pads and pools, the library, the circus, picked out her own fish, went through caves, a water park, fed a giraffe, she’s tried a lot of new food (and liked most of it), she went to a toddler bed at 23 months, played in the snow, rode on a train, took a gym class, was introduced to a cat (her babysitter has one so she plays with it during the week), went to her first movie, watched fireworks went on acouple Easter egg hunts, and I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot of other “firsts.” What a year it has been! I can only imagine each and every year getting even better!

Here’s her stats

1 year stats:
Head: 17.9” – 60th percentile
Height: 30.5” – 87th percentile (2 feet 5 inches)
Weight: 24.2 pounds – 88th percentile
2 year stats:
Head: 18.75” – 54th percentile
Height: 35.25” – 85th percentile
Weight: 29 pounds – 78th percentile

Clothes: She wears 2T and 3T and one 4T bathing suit fits her. She wears size 5 diapers and size large swim diapers.

Food: She loves blackberries, grapes, fruit smoothies, applesauce, apples, macaroni and cheese, popcorn, smoothies, shrimp, pickles and of course ice cream
Drink: She still drinks a ton of water and also loves her milk. She’s had cranberry juice here and there and also orange juice but not on a daily basis.
Sleep: Hit or miss. She goes to bed now between 7:30 and 8 which has been helping with her getting up so early. Now she gets up around 6 a.m. everyday unless we’re sleeping at someone else’s house then she sleeps in much later.

Activities: She loves being outside, swimming, doing anything with water, being the center of attention, crafts and learning. She’s starting soccer in a week and is really excited. She’ll kick a ball and yell “soccer!”

Talking: She still impresses us with everything she can say…and still repeats a lot of what she hears. She can say short sentences. She’s very social and will say “hi boy” to a boy when we’re at the grocery or will wave and say “hi” to people as we pass them. She can identify every letter of the alphabet, she knows most of the shapes (circle, heart, triangle, oval, octagon, square), she knows a lot of animals including cat, dog, horse, cow, duck, sheep, frog, shark, crab, fish, owl, lion, bear, rabbit, caterpillar, llama, giraffe, penguin, chicken, butterfly,
and I’m sure I’m missing some. She also knows the sounds each animals makes (if they make a sound). When asked how old she’ll be she yells “2!” She also knows when we’re at a red light that means stop and green light means go…and she’ll yell both. She knows most of the words to “ring around the rosie” and can sing “happy birthday.” She loves singing all kids songs whether she knows them or not. She knows the difference between hot and cold, dark and light.
Soph has pretty good manners for being two…almost too good at times. She pretty much always says  please, thank you and you’re welcome (unless she’s in a mood)…and is at the point where I don’t have to tell her every time to say them now. Acouple weeks ago we were at the store and I couldn’t find something so I asked the associate where I could find the item, after he told me, I said “thank you” and of course my little parrot heard me and repeated “thank you” to the associate. When the associate didn’t say “you’re welcome,” in a snotty voice Soph said “YOU’RE WELCOME!” LOL! I was super embarrassed but later thought it was funny.

Teeth: She has 16 teeth I think her two year molars are starting to come in.

Potty training: She sits on her potty chair with her clothes on….and isn’t ready to sit on it w/o them again. After she sees me go, she’ll yell “yay you did it mommy!” Now if only I can get her to do that. We’re starting the 3 day method hopefully in the next couple of weeks when we have a free weekend.
Every night we say our prayers and I go through everyone in the family and she likes to say their names.  She also says "Dear Jesus" and "Amen."

Dislikes: when its not her turn (she will YELL “my turn, my turn”), being told “no”
Favorite books: Belly Button Book and any Biscuit book
Favorite TV shows: Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse Club House, Sofia The First
Favorite movies: Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo
Soph can be soo sweet. I told her my belly hurt and she took the bandaid off her leg (that wasn’t even hurt lol) put it on my stomach, kissed it, rubbed it and said “all better.” Every night I put her in her big girl bed and she wants me to lay down with her and she’ll put her arm around me and sometimes will rub my back. So cute!!
We took her yesterday to get two year old pictures. I'll post more later this week. Here's acouple:
