Max's Birthday Party

On Saturday we had Soph's friend, Max's 4th birthday party. Soph was looking forward to it all week. She sustained a minor injury Saturday morning which sent us to Children's Urgent Care but luckily they cleared her to go to the party. It was kind of bad out and Soph was getting stir crazy so I was SOO glad the party didn't get canceled. Max is in Soph's class at school so she was excited to celebrate his birthday with all their classmates.

Singing "Happy Birthday" to Max:
The party was at GymExtreme which was soo fun. We've never been and will be going back in the near future. It's a perfect place for young kids to run out all their energy - especially on these days where we're cooped up in the house.
 Playing tag:
 This was a big trampoline:
Jumping off the high dive into the cheese pit:

 Running into the cheese pit:
 Tick tock...I'm a clock:
Soph loved having El throw her into the cheese pit:

Such a fun party!

Winter Blues

It has been soo cold these past couple of days so we've been trying to stay indoors as much as possible. Soph has been getting creative with playing. She LOVES getting a blanket and having a tea party, or she'll say the blanket is water and puts all her friends on it. She has many uses for a blanket. Below are some pictures from this weekend of Soph playing with blankets which equals hours of fun.

Soph also LOVES making pictures with this new paint set.
 Finished product:
You squirt the paint in it and it swirls around:

 Soph and her blankets:
It looks like a mess but she's using her imagination and keeps her busy so I let her go.

17 weeks

With Sophia I took weekly progress pictures, however, this time around I don't really have time and I feel HUGE so the last thing I want to do is take a picture. :) Anyhow, I decided to take my first picture at 17 weeks....which looks ALOT different than my first picture with Sophia at 4 weeks.

Here's my stomach at 17 weeks with Sophia and the second picture is at 17 weeks with our baby boy:

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 17 weeks
Gender: It's a boy!! Still working on the name.
Movement: I started feeling the babe this week and was SOO excited! I can't wait for El and Soph to be able to see the movements and feel the babe kick.
Sleep: Ehh...not too bad. I'm getting up once a night to pee and sleeping on my side stinks but i'm still sleeping so thats good.
What I miss: Not being tired
Cravings:  Sweets (including cookies of course)
Symptons: Nothing major. Doing little things make me tired...ALREADY. My gums are swollen and red just like with Soph. I started feeling better about two weeks ago and could eat normal meals which was soo nice. I'm also not dry heaving over everything so thats a plus!

Phone number

Since we don't have a home phone I decided Soph should learn one of our cell phone numbers. On Saturday I said my phone number twice in the car and then Soph knew it by heart. She was saying it all weekend. Such a proud mama!

Random

Here's some random pictures from the past two weeks.

We took Soph to Dave & Busters last weekend. She loves this place.
This weekend was super cold so we spent most of Saturday laying low. Soph was the entertainment (as usual) and put a baby in her shirt and said "Mommy look I have a baby in my belly like you." The baby was literally hanging out of her shirt:

She did this ALL day hahah:

Then on Sunday we woke up and drove to Cinci. We visited with the Goff's and made a trip to Ikea.

Soph having fun with her Uncle Brian:

Valentine's Day

Soph's school had a Valentine's Day party on Friday. She was soo excited. Her school doesn't allow any food or candy with their valentine's cards so I decided we'd make her Valentine's cards again this year. The labels say "Valentine, you make my heart glow" and we attached a glow stick to each one. Soph always says "That makes my heart sad" or "That makes my heart happy." so I thought these were cute. I had her sign her name to each one (22 total). This took five days to complete as she could only do acouple each day as she'd get tired and bored. She also made a card for each of her teachers. Here's the finished product.
All ready for her V-day party:

Random

I haven't been taking many pictures so here's acouple from my phone or El's phone from the past week or two.

Soph was playing around with Maya and thought she looked cute with Soph's hat on:

This past weekend was El's birthday. We took him to dinner, had cupcakes and gave him presents. I put a bunch of candles in the cupcake (he said he didn't want a cake - only cupcakes) and all the wax ruined the cupcake. Whoops!

Last week El took Soph to Cosi. She did the static machine, unfortunately she doesn't have a lot of hair so you can't see her hair standing up too much.
Yesterday we drove home to Piqua. We had a jammed packed day including visiting family, went to Olivia's basketball game, had my dad's famous baked spaghetti and then we got our taxes done. Oh, and before all of that, El took Soph to jumpies while I worked. It was a fun day!
 Soph loved jumpies:
Sporting her "I love my nana shirt."

It's a .........................BOY

We're soo excited to be having a BOY!! I had a hunch since my pregnancy has been soo different (I felt sick literally every day/all day up until last week) whereas with Sophia I'd feel sick in the morning, be fine all day, then feel sick at night. No matter what I'd eat, when I'd eat, if I'd eat at all...I still felt sick. A lot of foods and smells would make me gag. I would dry heave at Kroger in the meat and seafood department almost every week. Although I had a hunch, I was still SHOCKED when we found out last week at the 3D/4D ultra sound appointment. After we found out, Soph continued calling the baby a girl. I think she's finally calling the baby a "him" now, however, she still thinks we should name him kitten. :)

I made him this shirt (Soph has a "big sis" shirt to match):

We let Soph pick out a Build-A-Bear stuffed animal and they put the baby's heart beat in it so every time you squeeze the animal we can hear the heart beat. We did the same for Soph at her 14 week 3D/4D ultrasound and she still has it.

It's hard to see the picture but he has his arms behind his head. He was soo relaxed compared to when we saw Sophia in 3D/4D at 14 weeks. Soph was doing flips and didn't sit still. Our little boy was really relaxed. I have my next appt. on Tuesday and we're just hoping everything is still going well.
