Happy New Year! I'm way behind on my posts but thought I'd do a year end in review for 2013. We had a great New Year's Eve at home...just the three of us. Elliott got hurt at work so he was off on NYE. We played games, had a dance party and let Soph stay up until midnight to watch the ball drop.

She's obsessed with the Sofia The First vanity my parents got her and told me to take her picture next to it lol!
2013 was a good year for us. We were all for the most part healthy all year, we were able to take acouple trips, and spent a lot of time with friends and family. Elliott and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary, which is crazy to think we've been married that long and together since 2003. We went to Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky for a long weekend and were able to visit our friends and see their new baby and Soph got to see her boyfriend Max. Elliott and I took a trip to Clearwater, FL for our friends wedding. Elliott and I also went to Puerto Vallarta Mexico to celebrate my 30th birthday. We took Soph to several museums, baseball games, festivals, etc. Our basement is getting closer to being finished. We just have to add trim, paint the laundry room and the doors and the next step will be the bathroom. Everything else (besides decorations) is complete. I finally have an office and El's man cave is coming together. He now has furniture and a TV haha.
Elliott had a great year despite acouple injuries at work. He got a promotion and is now an MYR instructor, he went back to school part time and completed 5 classes in 2013 and has an overall GPA of 3.7. I'm so proud of him.
I also had a great year. I got a new job at Zanett as a Marketing Communications Manager and traveled to New Orleans, Orlando, Indianapolis and several trips to Cincinnati. I ran in a 5K, my first 10K and completed my first 1/2 marathon.
I think Sophia had the best year of all though. She has grown so much in this past year. I couldn't be more proud of our little girl. She turned 2 in August and could say she was 2. We started the three day potty training method on Friday, September 20 and has been potty trained every since. She's had accidents here and there but for the most part has done exceptionally well. She knows and can identify every letter in the alphabet and can say some of her ABC's. She can count to 15 and knows every shape and most of her colors. She loves to sing songs, repeats everything we say. Her favorite TV shows are Little Einsteins and Word World. She knows pretty much every animal and most of the sounds they make. She has memorized acouple books and will say the words on every page. She loves going to church. She took pre-gymnastic classes at The Litle Gym and started soccer in August and loves it (and cries when its not soccer day). She did a lot of "firsts" this year including her first Easter egg hunt, Dayton Dragons game, trick-or-treating, rode a four wheeler, built a snowman, flew a kite, and probably more that I can't remember. She amazes us everyday with the things she knows...just yesterday she saw a volcano on TV and said "volcano." We weren't sure how she knew that.
I hope that we have as much fun in 2014 as we did in 2013 and hope and pray for continued good health in our family.
Happy New Year!
