My third half marathon...

My mom and Aunt came in town to cheer us on at the half marathon, however, since it was going to be super cold, my mom stayed at home with Eli and Annaston so they wouldn't get sick. Thanks, Mom!

My aunt and Eli the night before the race:
I am SOO proud of my big brother, Ricky for running and dominating his first half marathon. Last year, after I finished the half, he said he wanted to do it next year and what do you know? He did it. My friends Ashley and Paul Clark also completed their first half marathon's as well. Soo proud of them.

Ashley, Ricky and I before the race started....Paul is in the background lol:
 After the race:
My sister, El, Soph and Jax were cheering us on. We saw them at mile 8 I think? It's SOO nice to have someone cheering you on - totally gives you motivation to run...and run faster. Thanks, guys!
So I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous for this half marathon. I didn't get to start training until almost September because I had to get the "ok" from my doctor after having Eli. On top of that, I had just had Eli so finding time to run....was hard! I didn't train nearly as much as I should have, however, I was soo proud of my time. My goal was to run the entire thing (didn't matter how fast) and finish. I somehow finished just five minutes slower than my best time two years ago and was FASTER than last year. What the what?

I say this every year, however, this is by far my favorite race. The kids at every mile who are patient champions are so inspiring. This run is so emotional. If you ever want to run in a race, this is the one to sign up for.

A big thanks to Elliott for supporting me again this year. It's not easy to come home after working all night and staying awake with TWO kids while I run...and have long runs. I appreciate you allowing me to accomplish this goal of mine.
