Mmm...Mum-Mum's

We gave Sophia mum-mums for the first time and she loved them. For those of you who do not know what mum-mums are, they are rice biscuits that dissolve in a baby's mouth. They are great for teething and since they dissolve, you don't have to worry about choking.

We gave Sophia the mum-mum and she wasn't sure at first:

Then she put it in her mouth:

Checking it out again:

She loved it and couldn't get enough:

Then Maya wanted some:

Soph dropped a piece for Maya:

Happy Valentine's Day

Here's some pictures of Sophia in her many Valentine's Day outfits (all of which have been taken over the past week).

Sophia taking a break from reading her Valentine's Day book:

Soo happy:

Soph really liked her tutu's (she even tried to eat them):

My Little AOII Legacy

Auntie Kushie bought Sophia her first AOII shirt over two years ago. It's a 12 month onesie so I've been waiting to put her in it for what seems like forever. She can FINALLY wear it. And, I put her in her AOII Panda chair that Auntie Kushie also got Sophia. So of course, I had to have a photo shoot. :)

Mashed Potatoes & Sippy Cups

Sophia is such a big girl. We gave her mashed potatoes and a sippy cup yesterday for the first time.

Her first bite:

She wasn't sure at first:

And then she gagged:

But she still ate them and started to like them by the end:

After dinner we decided to try out the sippy cup. I bought the kind that's for 6 months and up and filled it with water. To our surprise, she took it and held it right away.

And she knew what to do. We weren't sure if she was getting anything out of it at first but she liked it.

And she liked playing with it:

If you're wondering why she doesn't have on any pants, well, it was Sunday and she didn't leave the house once so we let her wear a onesie all day. She prefers to wear no pants, no socks and no shoes haha.

6 months

This past month has been soo much fun with Sophia. She is getting so big and it seems like she's doing something new everyday. We had her 6 month appt. on Friday. She got shots and did really well. As soon as she started crying, we gave her a bottle and she was fine. Her pediatrician said she looks great and is advanced. We always think she tells everyone that lol. She also told us we can start giving her lunch, a sippy cup and more foods. We gave her lunch today, which was just one package of baby food and the sippy cup. She wasn't sure about the sippy cup at first but I think she liked it. Tonight we're giving her mashed potatoes for the first time. I'll post pictures this week. :)

Here's her stats from her appt.:

Height: 26.75 inches – 76th percentile
Weight: 18 pounds 6 ozs – 88th percentile
Head: 17 inches – 69th percentile

She actually lost weight since last month. Her pediatrician said it's normal because she's becoming more active.

Here's her weight since she's been born:

Birth - 7 pounds 8 ozs
one month - 11 pounds 8 ozs
two months - 13 pounds 5 ozs
three months - 14 pounds 5 ozs
four months - 16 pounds 6 ozs
five months - 19 pounds (this is by our scale)
six months - 18 pounds 6 ozs

Here's her 6 month photos:

Clothes: she's wearing 12 and 18 month clothes now. Some of the 18 month outfits are a tad bit too long or the sleeves are long, however, other brands fit her perfectly.

Food: She's still eating 6 -7 ozs every time she gets a bottle. Her typical day includes breakfast which consists of cereal with fruit, a late morning bottle, lunch which is either a fruit or veggie, 1 bottle in the afternoon, then for dinner she eats fruits and veggies, then one last bottle around 7:30 before bed. I'm thinking now that we're giving her lunch, we might be able to cut out one of the bottles during the day. We'll see how that goes. Like I said above we're trying mashed potatoes tonight for the first time and she's also getting the sippy cup of water.

Sleep: she's still a really good sleeper. She still goes to bed between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and usually sleeps through the night until 7:30 and 8 a.m. This past week she has woken up in the middle of the night and we think its because she was off schedule when we were in Gatlinburg. We're hoping to get her back on schedule. She still takes a morning nap and a good afternoon nap (2-3 hours) when she's at the sitters.

Activities: She loves playing with her toys and prefers to be on her tummy. She likes to put everything in her mouth and chew on it. She loves her Baby Einstein gym thing and will whip around in it really fast. When she's on the floor she can roll from one side of the room to the other. We have to start baby proofing the house. She loves her jenny jump up. She's also taking baths in the tub w/o her baby tub, sitting in grocery carts and high chairs at restaurants. She can sit up on her own really well now.

Talking: although I wish I could say she's saying mama or dadda she isn't just yet. She is saying "yah" which is really cute and also "gee." We aren't sure what "gee" is, however, Elliott thinks she's trying to say "doggy." Who knows. We continue to work with her and fingers crossed she'll say mama soon. :)

Likes: eating her hands and anything she can put in her mouth, her binki (which we hardly give to her), being on her tummy, baths, watching Maya, eating, looking at fish, grabbing her feet, pulling my hair, doing rasberries.

Dislikes: wearing socks, shoes or bibs (she'll pull them off), when we take her bottle away from her.

She still doesn't have any teeth. We thought one would have come down by now but we've been wrong. She has her appt. with the ENT tomorrow and we're hoping that'll go well.

This month has been soo much fun and I get excited for all the milestones coming up (first tooth, saying mama, crawling etc.).

Elliott's 30th Birthday Party

Last night was Elliott's 30th birthday party at Gresso's bar in the Brewery District. I think everyone had a great time and we had a really good turn out. My mom came to Columbus and watched Sophia, Addie and Jaxon at my sister's house so we could all have a night out (thanks mom). Although I missed Sophia, it was nice having a night out with all of our friends. To my surprise we were out till after 2 a.m. and that hasn't happened in over a year and a half.

El had friends and family travel from Dayton, Piqua, Kentucky, Cinci and all over Columbus to celebrate his birthday.

The birthday cake didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it but I think it looked ok. I wanted to do a golf theme.

I saw this on Pinterest.com (30 sucks and 30 blows) so I had acouple of these as centerpieces:

El and the big 30 made up of tons of pictures of him with friends and family:
