18 months what?

No, Sophia is not 18 months, however, alot of the pictures included in this post include her in 18 month clothes. I cannot believe my 5 month (almost 6 month) old baby can wear 18 month clothes lol!!

Sophia is a rolling machine. I'll put her on her blanket, walk away and she'll be off it. She rolls everywhere. I think its time to baby proof the house. She's also not feeling the weekly photo shoots. She grabs the blocks, knocks them over or refuses to look at me. She's too cute!! Here's some of the photos I managed to get of her with her 25 week blocks:

She loves sitting up unless she's getting tired.

Isn't she the cutest?? :)

Again, we don't really give her a binkey, only from time to time. So...when we give it to her she almost knows she shouldn't have it and she'll laugh. Here, she grabbed it and put it in her mouth on her own.

This weekend Auntie and Dexter stayed with us. Sophia loves her great Auntie.

Sophia loves to grab our noses, especially when we say "honk, honk." She will laugh soo hard.

Sitting up straighter now.

El tried a new thing with Soph. He puts her up in the air like she's flying. She LOVES it.

I'm wondering if she'll take after Elliott instead of me since she's wearing 18 month clothes. She looks likes she's gotten soo much longer too. I cannot wait until her appt. to see how much she's grown since her 4 month appt.

I check her everyday, however, she still hasn't cut a tooth. We're thinking it'll be any day now. Tomorrow Elliott turns 30 so we're heading to Gatlinburg, TN to celebrate. Jim and Sharon are also going. We're all looking forward to getting away and spending time with Sophia. I really need a day off work (even though I'll be taking my laptop and working a little) and I think El does too. I'll post pics from our trip next week when we get back.

Rub a dub dub.. too big for the tub...

That's right, Sophia has graduated from the baby tub to the big girl bath tub. :) During her bath tonight, she kept sitting up and trying to roll over so we decided to take her out of the baby bath tub and put her in just the tub...and she did great!!

Here's Soph trying to get out lol:

Her first time laying in the bath tub (I think next time we'll put more water in the tub lol):

She LOVED it. We can't wait for swim lessons next month.

Then she wanted to sit up lol:

24 weeks...

Last week went by soo fast. I think because I've been working like crazy. I'm still working every night after I put Soph to bed. The big project I've been on is almost over and I can barely wait to have my life back. I've learned alot from this project but I'm ready to have my evenings back. :)

Now, for the reason you check out my blog. Sophia!!

She's getting bigger each day. She loves her bear that has her actual heart beat inside of it from when she was in my tummy. She also loves having matching tutu's lol.

Such a big girl:

She hates socks and will either kick them off, her pull them off. :)

She loves her blocks and is always chewing on them or tossing them:

She is like her daddy and is a morning person. Every morning she is soo happy. I just love it. Even on Saturday when she woke up at 6 a.m. (she never gets up this early) she was soo happy and even though I was super tired, how can you be mad when your baby is smiling non stop.

Like i said, she loves eating her blocks lol:

She's sitting up on her own really well now. We don't have to worry so much about her falling over. She is so smart and will balance herself by holding her feet, it's so cute.

This weekend we had a small shower for Erika. Addie loved helping her open presents.

Grandma Sharon came on Friday to visit. She brought Sophia this super soft blanket and matching rabbit pillow. I laid her on it and she fell asleep lol. Oh and yes, thats a binky in her mouth. We give it to her from time to time and she smiles like she knows she's not supposed to have it. :)

Grandma Sharon got Soph some other stuff. Here's a picture of Soph checking her stuff out.

23 week update

Twenty three weeks sounds soo old (tear). As I say all the time, Sophia is getting soo big, soo fast. The pictures this week were even harder to take as Sophia likes to play with the blocks and doesn't like to sit still long enough for a photo. :) I was still able to get acouple good ones:

She wanted to eat them haha:

I know alot of people that let their kids sleep in bed with them, however, I've always been too scared to do that. So today, I decided to cuddle on the couch for the first time with Sophia. After a few minutes she was over it lol.

Yesterday was my mom's birthday so my parents came to stay with us for the weekend.

Sophia loves her poppy:

We celebrated both Ricky and my Mom's birthday last night:

Poppy and Jax:

Soph and Auntie:

Jaxon is trying hard to catch up (in size) to Sophia, he's getting close. :)

Soph loves Uncle Ricky:

As I mentioned in my last blog post, we started Soph on Stage 2 baby foods. Here's some pics and I swear after I few bites, she loved it.

She's thinking WTF is this mom:

Soph before getting her baby food (she's starving)

Soph loves bubble baths even though she doesnt look happy in this picture:

My neighbor and friend, Erin started up a mommy's group for our neighborhood. We met at our neighbor Jenn's house for the first time this past week. It was alot of fun meeting Jenn and her son, catching up with Erin and Kristi and meeting baby Isla. We're hoping the group will grow each time we get together as this past one only included four moms and four kids. Its nice to chat with other moms and let the kids play.

5 months

Each day is even more fun with Sophia as her personality has come out and she brightens every day with her smile.

Weight:
Birth - 7 pounds 8 ozs
one month - 11 pounds 8 ozs
two months - 13 pounds 5 ozs
three months - 14 pounds 5 ozs
four months - 16 pounds 6 ozs
five months - 19 pounds (this is by our scale and she had all her clothes on)

Clothes: she's wearing some 9 months but mostly 12 month clothes now. I never thought my baby girl would be in 12 months when she's only 5 months old but she's healthy and that's all that matters. :) It's funny because Misty gave me some of Addie's clothes that are 12 months and they are winter clothes because Addie wore them when she was 1 year old. Soph been wearing size 3 diapers for acouple weeks now and should be in them for awhile.

Food: She's still eating 6 -7 ozs every time she gets a bottle. Her typical day now includes breakfast which consists of cereal with fruit, a late morning bottle, 1 bottle during the day, then for dinner she eats fruits and veggies, then one last bottle around 7:30 before bed. Two days ago we decided to look into Stage 2 baby food. The package said:

Your Child May be Ready if she -
1. sits independently - check that one off the list
2. shows excitement when food is presented - umm..she's shown interest in food for months - check that one off the list as well.

Soo we bought lots of stage 2 food. It was so much fun picking everything out, its not just boring peas or carrots, you can get mac n cheese, turkey and rice etc. We tried sweet potato and turkey and at first she made faces, but then loved it. I'll post pics later.

This morning we tried another new thing, instead of banana baby food, we mashed an actual banana and put that in her cereal..she LOVED it. She's such a good eater.

Sleep: She's still a great sleeper and I hope I don't jinx myself. During the week she's kind of on a schedule and normally gets tired between 7 - 8:30 p.m. and is asleep in her crib by 8:40 at the very latest. She'll sleep through the night until 7:45 a.m. or sometimes 8. She still takes a morning nap and a good afternoon nap. I've weened her off her evening nap so that I can spend more time with her before bed time and she seems to be fine. She's just super tired right before bed time.

Activities: She loves playing with her toys and prefers to be on her tummy. She grabs her toys and tosses them and she's still putting EVERYTHING in her mouth. She's talking (baby talk) more and giggling which is fun. She loves to do raspberries and laughs after she does them. She rolls all over the place. We'll put her on a big blanket and the next thing we know she's off of it. She still loves her Baby Einstein jumping gym thing and we tried the Jenny Jump Up this past week and she really liked that as well. She also found her ears this week and loves to grab them.

Likes: eating her hands, being on her tummy, baths, watching Maya, eating, looking at fish, grabbing her feet

Dislikes: headbands, wearing socks, shoes or bibs (she'll pull them off)

Five month pictures

Sitting up like a big girl:

She makes the funniest faces:

All smiles:

Loves her feet:

She still doesn't have any teeth. We thought one would have come down by now but we've been wrong. We're making her an appt. for the specialist for her tongue tied issue, while it doesn't seem to bother her, I'd like them to look at it again and explore our options. It seems like she's trying to stick her tongue out, but she can't. I'm not sure if this is the case, or me just being paranoid but I'd rather get a second opinion to see if we need to get it clipped now vs. later.

I'm proud to say, Elliott and I didn't call the pediatrician or take her to the pediatrician AT ALL this month. I think we're starting to get comfortable and not freaking out over every little thing. I still check on her several times after she goes to bed but mainly because she sleeps on her tummy now and I get nervous. We also put her bumpers back in her crib because she's all over her crib and we'd find her with her arm or leg hanging out.

We get soo excited after every milestone. Now that she's rolling over and sitting up on her own, the next BIG milestone is crawling. :) While I'm excited, I'm also sad as my baby girl is growing up way too fast.

22 weeks

Another week has flown by and Sophia is 22 weeks old. This past week has been crazy busy for me. After putting Sophia to bed every night at her bed time (between 7- 8:30) I've been working from home. Work is really busy for me right now. Not only do I work from home every night after Soph goes to bed, I've also been going into work early. One day last week I went in at 6 a.m. I can't wait for this month to be over which means the project I'm working on will slow down.

Sophia continues to suprise us every week. She's getting better at sitting up on her own. We still sit next to her and never leave her unattended when she's sitting up in case she falls back.

Here's her 22 week photos:

Although she continues to chew on EVERYTHING, she still hasn't cut a tooth yet:

She loves her blocks:

Always slobbering lol:

She prefers to eat them:

She looks like a toddler in this picture:

One day last week I was in the kitchen and Soph was playing with her toys. I walked out because she was laughing and she had her burp cloth on her head lol.

We had a good weekend. On Saturday we hung out with our friends Erin, Andy and their daughter Lilly. We went to Jeds and decided to let Sophia sit in a high chair for the first time. Since she sits in a high chair at our house we thought she would fit in the one at Jeds. She was still a little small so we put Lilly's puffy coat behind her for cushion and she loved it.

She makes the funniest faces:

Trying to take her socks off. She hates wearing socks and always takes them off.

We tried her Jenny Jump-Up this week and she loved it. We did face time with Nana and Poppy so they could see Sophia. It was nice because I put her in it and was able to clean her room and organize while she watched me.

We hung out with the Clark's and Weimerskirch's on Friday night at the Clark's house. We had a great time catching up with them. Sophia had fun playing with the twins and watching Ella and Morgan run around. Here's a picture of the boys with some of the kids:

Soph and the twins playing:

After a fun day at the babysitters:

Last night in the middle of the night I woke up because I heard Sophia. She typically sleeps through the night and doesn't wake up until 7:45 or after. Last night she was coughing like crazy. I was so sad because she just got over her first cold acouple weeks ago. She doesn't seem to cough much during the day or evening it just starts up when she's sleeping which is weird. I'm hoping it'll pass soon, I feel bad for her when she gets a cold. It doesn't seem to bother her and she continues to sleep even when she's coughing. She's such a good baby. We started giving her fruit and a veggie every night for dinner. We are also mixing fruit in with her cereal every morning for breakfast so she now gets cereal for breakfast, 2-3 bottles throughout the day, dinner which is a fruit and veggie and then a bottle before bed. She loves eating off the spoon and opens her mouth for every bite. Soph turned 5 months old on Monday and I'll update my blog with her stats and 5 month pictures when I find some free time.
