Saturday night Jim and Sharon graciously agreed to watch Sophia so El and I could have a date night. When we were deciding on where we'd go I suggested Put-N-Bay and El suggested Newport on the Levy. El won! I liked his suggestion because we were already driving to Cinci to take Soph to Jim & Sharon's. El did all the planning...I just went along. Newport on the Levy was NOT what we expected. We both thought there would be bar/restaurant/bar/restaurant...meaning lots of bars and restaurants next to each other - all in walking distance. There were acouple bars and restaurants. We still had alot of fun.
First we went to Hofbrauhaus for drinks. It was pretty dead but they still had some live music. Its actually in Kentucky so when we walked in they asked "smoking or non smoking." I forgot other states still allow smoking in public. I'm sure this place gets crazy in the evenings.
Cheers!
I didn't take any other photos from the night except the one below. After we left Hofbrauhaus, we went back to our hotel, Embassy Suites to freshen up to go out later. Embassy Suites has happy hour from 5:30 - 7:30 and ALL the drinks are FREE. Plus they had free snacks. We sat at the bar the entire time. We met some guys from Graham which is VERY close to Piqua. They actually know acouple people I know and also went to high school with one of El's friends. Small world. After happy hour, we went back to Newport on the Levy for dinner and drinks.
When we got back to our hotel we found this:
A bottle of champagne, card and chocolate covered strawberries. The card was from the front desk saying they hope we enjoy our first night away from our newborn. LOL! Sharon called to tell them we were celebrating our first night away from Soph. While she's 13 months and we've had acouple nights away from her, it was still VERY nice of the front desk.
Soph had soo much fun with her Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Jim. A big thanks to them for watching her.
