This past weekend we took a trip to Indiana. I had to go to Terre Haute, IN for work so we decided to make it a family trip and took Soph to the Indianapolis Children's Museum. Prior to going several adults told me they still remember their trips as children. Although Soph probably won't remember it, she had a ton of fun and that's all that matters.
We left Columbus at 7:30 p.m. last Thursday. Since it was a 4 hour drive we thought it would be best to leave around Soph's bed time so she'd sleep in the car. She slept for most of the car ride. Once we got to our hotel she was in such a good mood and wasn't tired. We let her play for a little bit then put her down for bed.
Here she is looking out the window right after we got to the hotel:
Soph looking over the edge to check out the view:
It's hard to see the view from this pic but Soph was more interested in checking out the view than getting a pic:
Downtown Indianapolis:
Then we went to our second hotel and Soph ran to the window. She loves looking out windows and saying "car" and "truck."
Playing with daddy:
Then, on Saturday we went to the Indianapolis Children's Museum (Note: there's a TON of photos below).
Outside the museum:
Soph was SOO excited she didn't know what to check out first:
She's like her daddy and went straight to the archeology dig:
Putting together puzzles with bones:
Dinosaur eggs:
It was so cool because each exhibit was so hands on. They also had cute outfits that the kids could put over their clothes. Here's Soph with the dinosaur coat:
She loved anything that had tunnels or crawl spaces:
The "choo choo" trains were also a big hit. She kept saying "choo choo."
The Mummie exhibit:
Putting together a mummie:
They had a big play area for kids and Soph ran from one thing to the next.
She loved playing in the sand tables:
And all the race cars:
Posing on a fake motorcycle because she'll NEVER be on a real one! :)
Some kids were afraid of the alligator...Soph climbed on it lol!
Enjoying some fake lunch:
Tea with the teddy bears:
Soph was soo confused with all the mirrors:
They had this huge water table that was alot of fun:
And of course slides:
And giant legos:
I think it'll be fun to take Soph back when she gets a little older. She had alot of fun at this age but will probably like it (and will remember it) even more when she's older.
